The Social Committee is a very busy committee. Chaired by Lynne Cavazos for many years, it is a well-oiled machine! We absolutely could not make it all happen without our volunteers!!!

The Annual Meeting occurs in June and brings PLA Members together as summer activities are just beginning. It’s a wonderful event with a great meal, an interesting speaker, displays, and door prizes too! It is typically attended by 100 or so guests, including the latest Scholarship winner and family. It’s great to see everyone again after the long winter.

The Strawberry Shortcake Social is the other big event. It occurs on the Thursday of Homecoming every year during the combined Scottville Clown Band / Civic Band Concert. It is a fun, family tradition for many locals. This event is the PLA’s only fund-raising event. All the ingredients are obtained locally and served in biodegradable bowls. Every year we need help to make this happen. Please consider volunteering!

Committee members include: Lynne (Chair), Beth Provencal, Jody TerHaar, and Marsha LaHaye. Caroline Denlar retired in 2025 after many years of coordinating! She is missed!
